Will you not REVIVE us again so that your people may rejoice in you? - Psalm 85:6 |

We’re excited to begin Phase 1 of our transition into the FLC, which marks the first step in a $2.5 million investment to create a right-sized, state-of-the-art worship facility and multi-use space. This new facility will not only modernize our worship environment, but also foster a closer sense of community and prepare us for sustainable growth for decades to come.

By right-sizing our space, we’ll have the opportunity to better steward our resources, focusing on kingdom growth rather than the maintenance of an oversized building, in desparate need or repairs, upkeep, and improvement. Currently, we lose significant resources each year due to the cost of maintaining underutilized space, but this move will allow us to save hundreds of thousands of dollars annually, which can be redirected toward ministry and mission.

We are setting ourselves up to invest more in reaching our city and expanding our impact, rather than being weighed down by building maintenance costs. Phase 1 is about building a solid foundation—both physically and spiritually—that will empower us to live out God’s vision for generations to come.

PHASE 1

Phase 2 will focus on expanding the FLC into a more dynamic, multi-use venue designed to meet the diverse needs of our congregation. We will expand the north entrance to create a more open and welcoming space, providing better access for senior adults and young families with direct access to elevators and classrooms.

This phase will also include the development of outdoor space where our community can congregate, socialize, and build relationships. Additionally, we will create centralized rooms that will serve as gathering spaces for students, young adults, and other groups, fostering a sense of connection and engagement.

This space, used appropriately, will still help us reach the thousands that once gathered on campus, but with a new, more strategic approach that meets the current needs of our city and context. Phase 2 is about creating a flexible venue where people of all ages can grow in faith and community, positioning Riverside to reach the city effectively.

Riverside has had a long-standing presence in the city of Denver, and by thinking strategically in this way, this move and transition can secure that our presence, and more importantly the Lord’s, will be in Denver for decades to come.

PHASE 2

As we transition into the FLC, Phase 3 requires us to address the reality of our current auditorium. The cost to update its mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems alone is estimated at $12-15 million, with no aesthetic improvements. Given these challenges, we are exploring options that involve replacing the building. This opens opportunities to create a resource that generates significant income, supporting Riverside’s mission of church planting and multiplication for years to come.

Riverside has a rich history of faithful ministry, rooted in our commitment to serving the people of Denver since our founding in 1953. Over the years, we’ve seen seasons of growth, transformation, and impact—reaching thousands for Christ and becoming a beacon of hope in our community. While the landscape around us has changed, our heart for the city remains the same.

Today, we stand at a pivotal moment as we move into a new season. As we transition into a right-sized, modern facility at the FLC, we’re positioning ourselves to reach the rapidly changing, tech-driven, and transient city of Denver more effectively.

Our future is bright. By embracing strategic opportunities for church planting, multiplying disciples, and creating spaces that foster community, we are ensuring that Riverside continues to be a catalyst for transformation in Denver for generations to come.

OTHER PHASES

As we move into the gym, we’re excited to create a 700-seat, state-of-the-art auditorium that will allow us to worship together in a more intimate community. This new space builds on the connection we felt during our service in the gym back in April 2022, bringing us closer while continuing to prioritize our mission.

Beyond worship, this room will also serve as a multi-purpose space for events, gatherings, and outreach, positioning Riverside to better engage with our community. It’s a flexible environment designed to meet the needs of today’s dynamic culture, helping us reach the people right here in our neighborhood more effectively.

Our expanded north entrance will provide much-needed improvements in access and functionality. With better parking and easier access for our senior adults, it will also solve seasonal issues like ice and snow during the winter months, ensuring safer and more convenient entry into the building.

This visible front entrance will not only serve as a welcoming point for newcomers but also create outdoor spaces for connection. These areas will be perfect for games, hangouts, and even outdoor teaching environments for students, kids, and adults—fostering community and providing flexible spaces for gatherings and outreach.

WHY REVIVE?

This campaign is not just about raising funds, it’s about reviving the long-standing vision of Riverside. Over the next 3 years, we will:

-Revive our mission of being a multiplying church
-Right-size our space to prepare for long-term impact
-Position ourselves to plant churches that plant churches, expanding our reach
